Copy Music from Ipod: Part 2
You’ve seen how easy it is to find your music on your iPod, and even without any extra software, you can simply drag and drop it back onto your computer.
The next problem is finding a particular track on your iPod without having to sort through all 50 of your F-directories. And again, it can be done easily, this time with a free program.
As a continuation of Copy Music from your Ipod , you will need an iPod that has disk use enabled. One piece of free software that will do the trick is called Mp3tag, a powerful, yet easy-to-use tool to edit metadata (ID3 tags) of MP3 files.
Hook your iPod up to your computer
Navigate to your iPod’s Ipod Control/Music director
Copy the address
Paste the address into Mp3tag
Press enter
Depending on how many songs you have, scanning your iPod may take a while
Mp3tag is finished scanning
Close the tag window by clicking on the small X
Scroll to the Artist and Album columns to identify the MP3 files.
You cannot search for an artist or song name, but you can sort each column.
Right-click on a track(s), copy, then paste to the new location.
And that’s it, you’re done.
